Summer Recap!

SUMMER LOVIN'

We tried to make the best on the summer -- even though we didn't get pregnant and ran out of money and had house problems and had to work. So here's a quick recap:

In June we found out we weren't pregnant. Went to Ottawa for Canada Day with the whole family. We all stayed at Robert and Jolanda's new place that was undergoing renovations -- but already looked great. July we inseminated again and once again--- no luck. Then we developed a leak in the basement -- found mold and demo'ed the back wall area. Mold eradicated...leak not quite. Enjoyed several BBQs, wedding showers, and warm summer nights. Decided to take an insemination break. But it was August we were waiting for. In August Jennifer came down to see a concert(Thanks Marci for the tickets!) and do a little shopping. In August our friends Mariko and Charissa got married. And finally, it was in August when Lisa and I finally got our vacation time. Thank god.



August: Our hardwood floors were finally installed. Well worth the wait. Megan's back was in repaired enough to put them in. We celebrated by wearing tube socks and buying Phoebe slippers. The floors look better than anything else in the house...

ALSO...Mariko and Charissa (Marissa) got hitched at the Vaughn Estates. It was beautiful, heartwarming, and their were ribs and mini-milkshakes...could you ask for anything more...no really, you can't. Charissa looked like a million bucks in her suit and Mariko swooped in with a stunning dress -- taking everyone's breath anyway....except for Lindy. She managed to keep enough for her surprising and dramatic reading of Natural Woman. It was all very good. ALSO....we had a week off from work following the wedding -- so we decided to head to the EX. It's always a good time. Lisa had a pickle on a stick -- while I enjoyed a delicious foot long Pogo.....mmm. We went on some rides, saw some butter sculptures, stayed for the Iams Dog Show, and watch the fireworks. It was
divine.
